Abstract

Matere bonds (MaB) to rhenium in a set of organic perrhenates are probed via^185/187Re solid-state NMR in applied magnetic fields of up to 35.2 T, and via^185/187Re NQR. ^185/187Re quadrupolar couplings distinguish between MaB samples and control samples, and their precise values are governed by shear strain of the ReO₄^- anions.
