Abstract

This communication identifies major methodological flaws in a recent publication, ACS Appl. Mater. Interfaces 2024, 16, 61832-61845, including the inappropriate use of the pseudo-second-order kinetic model to infer adsorption mechanisms, the application of incorrect forms of the Weber-Morris intraparticle diffusion model and the Dubinin-Radushkevich isotherm, and errors in the calculation of thermodynamic parameters. Addressing these issues is essential to ensure the scientific integrity and reliability of the reported results.

Keywords: Dubinin−Radushkevich isotherm; Weber−Morris model; adsorption thermodynamics; intraparticle diffusion; pseudo-second-order kinetics.
