This study addresses fossil fuel dependency and carbon emissions in traditional ethylene glycol synthesis by developing a bromine-mediated indirect electrocatalytic oxidation strategy for ethylene using a Sn-NiSb2O6 catalyst. At 500 mA cm-2, the system achieves 79% selectivity and 53% faradaic efficiency, validating the feasibility of non-noble metal catalysts for anodic selective oxidation.
