The Role of Exosomes in the Lens

Abstract

Exosomes are small membrane-bound vesicles which have emerged as crucial mediators in various biological and pathological processes, as well as potential therapeutic delivers. In recent years, the role of exosomes in the lens, a specialized tissue essential for vision, has been stressed. The purpose of this review is to sum up the current understanding of exosome function within the lens and their implications in lens-related diseases.
